Joe, In the film Joe's father passes away. How hard was it to get into that state of mind?

   A:
I lost my father about 5 years ago, so getting into the character of Joe Nuzzo when dealing with the loss of his father wasn't a huge change for me. It had such a huge impact in and on my life that everyone was affected by it just like in the film. I was in and out of good and bad moods as well as the family, which not only effected me but everyone around me. It was hard imagining all of that again, but it related so much to Joe Nuzzo that it came out in his character. If it was something that the charecter and I did not have in common or something i couldnt relate to .. Well that's the art of acting and the strenght of the craft...you create it..

Q: This is for Monika Knight
What was it like playing the role of Michelle Nuzzo?

A:
I had a great time becoming Michelle on set.  She's a tough cookie, but deep down she's very vulnerable and doesn't like that vulnerability to show.  It was fun to layer her like that, to explore what it's like to be an Italian woman, let alone a newlywed.  The best part is seeing the result of all that hard work.

Dealing with the loss of your father, and having to relate to a real-life experience, Did you find it hard to keep with your lines in the script?

   A:
There was a script?? I didnt get a script......Just kidding.. Not at all. I'm not sure if you have watched any of the episodes before the film was completed. Lightning films released 3 of them to get you introduced to the characters of Joe and Michelle Nuzzo. Anyway each episode was all improv. No script. They gave us the direction on where to go, and we went from there. Working with Monica was like we weren't even acting. We would get a call saying "We are filming Episode 2 this week" after it being a few weeks, maybe even a month Monica and I would meet on set and start out exactly where we left off. We became so comfortable with each other, each others technique, and Joe and Michelle Nuzzo that we would just go with it. When I was casted we auditioned a little over 30 females for the part, Monica was in the middle. When she walked out I said that's Michelle Nuzzo. We would add what we had to in the scene to make it that much better, plus I had my script supervisor next to me the entire time..."Thanks Chelsea" ..

You and Joe Sernio are great together.  Did you know eachother prior to filming The Roadhouse?

A:
Surprisingly, no!  I met Joe during my first audition for the project and we hit it off immediately.  My job as an actor is to make relationships feel natural, so having that compatibility makes my work a lot easier.  Joe cracks me up, and is a great improv partner.  So much of the magic of this film isn't scripted, and Joe was a great sounding board for some of Michelle's crazy one-liners.

Ok guys, what do you hope people will take away from The Roadhouse?
A sense of reflection.  When the credits roll, I hope people feel they've witnessed something amazing that makes them think twice about how they live their lives and the choices they make.  I'm confident this film will make a firm impression.  Nick Pavano is a great young director who has incredible instincts, so everybody is in for a treat!!
